Required Admissions Documents

UWC Thailand Required Documents

 Documents required for admission are provided to the school in two parts.  

Part 1 documents are the documents the school needs to make an admissions decision and offer of admission.  

Part 2 documents are required after a student has been accepted and offered admission and must be provided before a student can be authorized to enroll and start attending class.

 Part 1 Documents Required at the Time of Application:

1. Submit an online enquiry and application at uwct.openapply.com

2. School Reports to upload to the online application on OpenApply

 Entering Nursery, Kindergarten or Pre-School:

All school reports provided to you by your child’s previous school, if any.

Entering Grade 1:

One1 full year of reports from the previous school year

Reports should include:  

    • teacher comments
    • attendance records
    • A Grading Key (or grading scheme) should be included on the report or provided separately so we can properly interpret the reports.

Reports that are not issued in English must be translated.  

Students entering the Primary School (Nursery - Grade 5) may submit unofficial translations but must also provide both the translated copy of the report and a copy of the original native language report.

Entering Grades 2-5:

A minimum of the most recent two to three years of school reports, or transcripts.  

Reports should include:

·     Teacher comments or narrative

·     Attendance records

·     Grading key or scheme

Reports that are not issued in English must be translated.  Students entering the Primary School (Nursery - Grade 5) may submit unofficial translations and must also provide both

·     the translated copy of the report

·     a copy of the original native language report

 These should be uploaded to the student’s OpenApply application online.

Grades 6-11:  

A minimum of the most recent two to three years of school reports, or transcripts.  

Reports should include:

·     Teacher comments or narrative

·     Attendance records

·     Grading key or scheme

Reports that are not issued in English must be officially translated by a 3rd party or

professional translation company, and be embossed, sealed or stamped by the

translator or translation company.  

For each report, please provide:

·     the translated copy of the report

·     a copy of the original report in the native language

These should be uploaded to the student’s OpenApply application online.

3. Recent Standardized Test Scores – required when available; including, but not limited to: ISA, MAP, ITBS, TOEFL, ERB, PSAT, SAT, Stanford Achievement Test, etc.

 4. A confidential recommendation from a current or former teacher, principal or administrator, submitted through our OpenApply application system.

 5. Student Identification:

  • Thai Nationals and Dual Nationals (Thai/Expat):
    • Copy of the student’s birth certificate (Thai Language preferred if born in Thailand)
    • Copy of the student’s expatriate passport
    • A recent passport photo to be uploaded to the online application.
  • Expatriates
    • Copy of current passport personal information/photo page (passport should have at least 6 months validity)
    • Copy of the student's birth certificate (untranslated)
    • A recent passport photo to be uploaded to the online application

6. Additional Documents Required Where Applicable: 

The following documents are required at the time of at the time of application if they pertain to your child and are in your possession or the possession of your child's school or former school(s).  

As an inclusive school, full disclosure is expected. All documents should be volunteered and provided at the time of application. Failure to do so could put your child’s application in jeopardy.

·     Documents or test results for inclusion in gifted and talented programmes.

·     Individualised Education or Learning Plan (IEP or ILP) or 504 Plan

·     Learning support reports and learning support testing results

·     Occupational Therapy reports

·     Reading support reports and testing results

·     Speech and language services report

·     Psychological or psycho-educational testing results and reports

·     Behavior modification plan

7. Application fee of 5,000 baht

After providing the above items (1-6), please arrange to pay the application fee.

Payment of the application is required before testing or a classroom visit can be arranged. Please let us know if you prefer to make payment in person on the date of your child's classroom visit or assessment. 

Part 2 Documents Required for Enrollment:

The following documents should be provided as soon as they are available and must be provided before a student can be authorized to start school. All documents can be uploaded to the student’s application on OpenApply or handed to admissions staff upon arrival at UWC Thailand.

All Students:

1.   Updated school records, reports or transcripts from most recent semester or quarter if the student has previous schooling experience. These are reports issued after the application was submitted, but prior to enrollment at UWCT.

2.   An English language copy of the student’s vaccination (immunization) records in English (official translation is not required)  

3.   Local contact details for the parents of day students. This should include local home address, local phone numbers such as land-line and mobile numbers, as well as the name, email and phone number of a designated emergency contact person

4.   Copy of Non-immigrant visa type page for the student (typically type ED, O, F or D). Please note that Thai law does not allow students to enroll on a Tourist visa (type TR) or a visa-on-arrival stamp.

5.   All school fees must be paid and cleared before a student may start attending classes at UWC Thailand.

Entering grades 9 term 2 or 3, and grades 10-12

1.   Items 1-4 above

2.   Official** transcript, school reports, or records for grades 9-10 (Years 10-11) and IGSCE results if relevant. These should be issued in English or officially translated into English. Official documents are required of all students who intend to apply to university after graduation from UWCT.

 **Official school records, reports or transcript(s) are the school’s certified statement of the students academic record. Official records have been stamped, sealed or embossed and signed by the school registrar or appropriate school official.  In order to ensure that official records have not been altered, they must be sent from the issuing school directly to UWC Thailand by post in a tamper proof sealed envelope, or by email from the school to UWC Thailand admissions. If your school can send official report electronically, instruct your current school to send your official records to admissions@uwcthailand.ac.th or our mailing address on the website.

All Boarding Students:

So that the boarding staff may arrange appropriate care for the student when necessary, all students who are offered admission and enroll in the UWC Boarding program, must provide:

·     A copy of their immunization (vaccination) records

Students who are accepted as Direct Entry Applicants must also provide:

·     Proof of medical insurance so that the boarding staff may arrange appropriate care for the student when necessary (Not required for UWC National Scholars)

This may be sent in the form of copy of both sides of the student’s health insurance card or other insurance document and should include the following details:

  • The student’s name
  • Dates the policy is effective
  • Insurance policy number
  • Name of the insurance company
  • Contact details of the insurance company
